Richard Parsons : the owner
Richard is an eminent New Yorker who consolidated a life-long passion for wine in 2000 when he purchased the Palazzone property. In spite of his important professional commitments he finds time to be present at the estate in the significant moments of the “wine year.” He is here to harvest in person and also to decide the wood aging and blending for each vintage.
Laura Gray : the estate manager
Laura is a trained sommelier and has a degree in English Literature from the University of Oxford. She has lived in Montalcino since 1995 and has always worked with wine. She has been at Il Palazzone since 2003 and is the estate manager.
Stefano Sassetti : the cellarman
Stefano, after a degree in Politics, has spent the last twenty years working in some of the best cantine in Montalcino. He’s from nearby Buonconvento and a great asset to the estate, thanks to his passion for his craft, constant good humour and calm lateral thinking.
Maurizio Castelli : consultant winemaker Born in Milan and long-term resident in Tuscany, Maurizio has been working as an enological consultant since the 1980s. He has ongoing projects in both Chile and California and a wine club, Vitis Vinifera, in Montisi. He and his team also oversee the agronomical side of our operations since what happens in the vineyards is crucial to the quality of our wines.
Jenny Cuddihy: US sales
Jenny Cuddihy has worked in the Food & Beverage industry for over 15 years in Boston and New York. She has spent the last 7 years working for an International Importer/Distributor based in New York City. Previously she studied music and vocal performance at Boston University and New England Conservatory. She has an Advanced Diploma with the WSET and has traveled to many wine regions throughout the US and Europe. She handles the US Distribution, Marketing & Sales for Il Palazzone and lives in Eastern Long Island with her husband and two sons.
