For more than 100 years, grapes, olives and fruit
trees have been grown on the hillsides of a farm and
vineyard near Montalcino in Tuscany. Il Palazzone,
or "The Big Palace," is the name of a large
house built on the property by its original owners.
The land was subsequently divided, and another house
and cantina for producing the wine were built; but
Il Palazzone continues to be the brand name for both
the olive oil and the wine produced on the site. In
1999, an American couple purchased the property. Committed
to maintaining the traditions and quality passed on
to them by the previous stewards of the land, they
are equally dedicated to sharing their exquisite olive
oil. It is made using a vintage method that delivers
extra-virgin olive oil with an exceptional taste.
Grown on terraced hillsides, no pesticides are used
on the trees, and the hand-picked olives are cold-pressed
at a local cooperative. Purchasing Il Palazzone Olive
Oil means you are participating in a heritage as distinctive
as Tuscany itself.
