Clear deep ruby with a garnet rim. Dominant sour cherry and dried strawberry on the nose with wet stones, red meat, sage, twigs and crunchy autumn leaves. On the palate, balanced strong tannins deliver a deep plum and plum skin flavor while bright acidity carries the tart red fruit through the finish. Crunchy leaves and dried sage continue throughout with notes of dried red fruit and flowers. Long mineral finish with tart red fruit, acid and woodsy notes.

January was quite cold with some snow. February saw fluctuating temperatures and additional snow early in the month. Abundant winter rains were crucial for water storage, which proved vital in mitigating the subsequent dry season.

Spring remained colder than the historical average until June. Bud break was favored by a significant temperature rise at the end of March. However, a late frost on April 8th caused a prolonged period below freezing, resulting in a decrease in production and a slowdown of the entire cycle.

Summer was moderately hot and defined by significant drought, with very little rainfall, particularly in March, July, and September. All tools and knowledge were implemented to avoid sunburn on the bunches or damage to the canopy. Marked day-night temperature swings positively influenced the quality and aromatic profile of the vintage. These temperature swings also ensured that the color of the canopies remained green and intact. The rainfall that arrived at the end of August was highly beneficial, assisting in the balanced ripening of the grapes. The Brunello harvest successfully began on September 16th.
